Is the project open sourced?

Yes! Its completely open sourced. The public release of all firmware, hardware and mechanical designs is going to happen on the same day as the first units ship. We cannot wait to see how you will modify the firmware and make your unit unique. But... remember, don't cheat against others with some sprinkle of firmware fun ;)

When will the Micro Racer ship?

Expected to ship on September 30th, but things change. We will communicate with everyone who buys one via email with a clear status on a regular basis.

What's the project status?

The project is complete from technology standpoint. There are some minor things left to do but we are confident we can deliver on time, that said we will clearly communicate to all early birds the status on regular basis.

Here is what's left to do:
1. FCC SDoC testing
2. Instructional videos
3. Manuals
4. Part procurement
5. Kit packaging
6. Shipping!

And we will expand on its capabilities over time.

How long does assembly take?

Between 30 to 60 minutes, but once you make one the second one will be much quicker.

Do I need prior experience?

No! You will need a soldering iron and a little bit of patience to put them together. It will be worth it, we promise.

What’s the battery life?

Depends how you ride them! But, we have ran ours for an hour+ before needing to charge.

Can I modify the firmware?

Yes! Its fully open source and we encourage everyone to tinker! We will provide examples in the exclusive community on how to change some parts to make your car unique and add some fun features!

What’s included in the learning content?

We will have an embedded systems primer that will dive into microcontrollers and we will have in depth lessons based on the projects open sourced by Damian (StuckAtPrototype)
