A small thing on your desk that makes you want to start.

I built this because most mornings I'd sit down and immediately get pulled somewhere else. A notification. A tab. A buzz. By the time I looked up, the morning was gone.

So I made something quieter. It tells you the time, and it holds that time to about a minute a year, so you're never late. It tells you what your air feels like. And every day it shows you a new quote to push against, agree with, or carry into the work ahead.

No app. No account. No glowing screen begging for your thumb.

I designed it and open-sourced it, because the best objects aren't locked down. They're lived with. Hand assembled in Texas. By me.

Put it on your desk. See what changes.

Founder Edition. First 200 only, each in a hand-signed box.

What's left to do?

Only to build them and ship them! For Europe, we are still in progress with CE certification. For North America, FCC is done and passed!

Tells time. Reads your air. Hands you a thought.

I built this clock because most mornings I'd sit down and immediately get pulled somewhere else. A notification. A tab. A buzz. By the time I looked up, the morning was gone.

So I made something quieter. It sits on your desk and does three things. It tells you the time. It tells you what your air feels like. And every day it shows you a new quote, something to push against, agree with, or carry into the work ahead. No app. No account. No glowing screen begging for your thumb.

Built to be lived with, and tinkered with

Whether you're an engineer, a designer, or someone who just wants one less thing demanding attention, this fits on your desk without asking anything of you.

But because it's open source, you're not stuck with my decisions. Rewrite the quote list. Redo the layout. Wire in another sensor. Every detail is accessible, because the best objects aren't locked down. They're lived with.

Hand assembled in Texas. Built to last years, not seasons.

What's inside

The display is e-ink, so it's readable in any light and sips almost no power. Behind it is a VOC sensor that reads the air in the room and tells you when it's gone stale, plus temperature and humidity so you know when the room's working against you.

The timekeeping runs on an RV-3032-C7 real-time clock, accurate to about ±2 ppm. In plain terms, it drifts roughly a minute a year. You set it once and forget it. A rechargeable battery keeps it running about two months on a charge.

And it's fully open source, firmware and hardware both. No app, no account, nothing to sign into. It works the moment you plug it in, and if you ever want to change how it works, every file is yours.

FAQ

What does it sense?

It has a VOC sensor (the ENS161) plus temperature and humidity, so alongside the time you get a quick read on your air. Worth noting this is VOC based air quality, not PM2.5 or a true CO2 reading.

How long does the battery last?

About two months on a charge. E-ink only pulls power when the screen actually updates, so it sips battery instead of guzzling it.

What are the daily quotes?

Every day The Clock shows a new motivational quote. Small thing, but it's nice to look up from your work and catch something worth reading. There over 200 hand-picked quotes it chooses from.

What is the Founder Edition?

The first 200 units. Each one is hand signed by me, the run is capped at 200, and once they're gone they're gone. It's priced at $179.

Is it really open source?

Yes, it will be fully open sourced once the first units ship. You can sign up to get the files here: https://landing.stuckatprototype.com/the-clock

Can I hack on it?

Please do. It runs on an ESP32-H2 with an LVGL based interface, and everything is documented and open. If you like to tinker, you have everything you need to make it your own.

What's the display?

E-ink behind a tempered glass front. Easy on the eyes, no glare, no backlight buzzing at you all day. The enclosure is injection molded right here in the USA.

Where does it ship from?

Texas. I assemble and ship everything myself.

What if I have a problem with it?

Just reach out at contact@stuckatprototype.com

How does the 30 day guarantee work?

Once you get your unit, you will have 30 days to either keep it or return it. Its that simple. Don't like it? Email me at contact@stuckatprototype.com and I will send you a return label.
